With the XPhone Connect Softphone you only need your PC, headset & internet to enjoy the full comfort of modern business communication – anywhere, anytime.
All telephony functions are available without a hardware phone – and in HD audio.
Whether in the office, at home or on the beach: with the Softphone it doesn’t matter where you work – you’re always reachable under your office number. To your callers, only your business number is shown (One Number concept).
Travelling abroad? Just pick up your headset. Your phone costs shrink to your internet connection – at home and abroad.
Modern workplace concepts. Made simple.
Every employee keeps their own extension – regardless of desk or location. Sharing a workplace no longer means sharing a phone. Flexible seating and shared workspaces become easy to implement.
With the XPhone Connect softphone, you can make calls in HD quality. All the values that determine your call quality can be displayed using a traffic light system.
The XPhone Connect softphone can be used with almost all end devices. Regardless of whether the connection is via USB, Bluetooth or jack.
You can switch devices seamlessly during the call – for example, from the headset to a loudspeaker to let your colleagues join in the conversation.
Fully operational, also in terminal server environments.
Are you using a terminal server environment? Then XPhone Connect is also the right choice for you. The XPhone Connect softphone is fully operational in terminal server environments as well as in virtualised environments.
Absolutely! The softphone is not only available on your laptop or PC, but also on the move – in the XPhone Connect Mobile app. You can make calls conveniently via Wi-Fi or the mobile network (5G, 4G and 3G).
The tried-and-tested one-number concept also applies here: when you use the Softphone Mobile, your office number is always signaled to the outside world.
The mobile version of the softphone is also fully equipped: you can forward calls, switch to consultation or toggle.
The device selection between the mobile app and the desktop client is always synchronized automatically. The "parallel ringing" option is ideal for all employees who are rarely at their desk: incoming calls are signaled on both the PC and the cell phone – and the employee can decide which device they want to use to answer the call.
Tirolia, a logistics provider for pan-European truck transport, tested the Softphone extensively. Employees connect via All-in-One Client on a terminal server.
"We had long searched for a Softphone compatible with our infrastructure. With XPhone we save hardware costs and gain complete flexibility in our processes. Less cost, more flexibility, better service – for us, XPhone is a win in every respect."

A softphone is software that allows you to make calls directly from your computer or smartphone – without a physical phone. It uses Voice over IP (VoIP) to transmit calls over the internet . Softphones offer functions such as call forwarding, conference calls and caller ID.
Softphones offer more flexibility, mobility and integration options. They can be easily integrated into existing systems, are ideal for working from home and reduce hardware and energy costs. They are also ideal for implementing modern workplace concepts such as "flexible seating" or "shared workspaces". Regardless of their workplace, employees always have the same extension number.
Yes, softphones such as XPhone Connect can be seamlessly integrated into traditional PBX systems. This allows companies to benefit from modern communication functions without having to completely replace their existing infrastructure. Hybrid concepts can also be implemented, in which some employees make calls via softphone while others continue to use the desk phone if required or interested.
Modern softphones rely on encrypted voice data transmission (e.g. via SRTP/TLS) to protect conversations from eavesdropping. In combination with secure networks and up-to-date clients, they can also be used in security-critical environments.
Absolutely. Softphones are ideal for decentralised working. Employees can access their office phone number from anywhere (One-Number concept), make calls, set up call forwarding or start video conferences – all via laptop or smartphone.
A stable internet connection, compatible end devices (PC, smartphone, headset) and a VoIP-capable server or PBX are required.
The amount of internet bandwidth required depends, among other things, on which codec the selected softphone is based.
Of course, everyone wants to make calls in HD audio if possible. The question is how this quality is generated. XPhone relies on the OPUS codec for this: it is satisfied with a low bandwidth to deliver HD audio and adapts to the bandwidth at the lower end. Instead of shutting down when the bandwidth is insufficient, the quality is downsampled and the data packets are reduced in size.
A softphone is usually a component of a larger UC solution. UC (Unified Communications) combines various communication channels such as telephony, chat, video and email in one platform. Softphones focus mainly on voice communication.
The costs vary depending on the provider and scope of services. License models are possible (e.g. monthly subscription or one-off purchase). Additional costs may be incurred for hardware (e.g. headsets) or integration services.
The telephone costs for softphones depend on the VoIP provider used and the tariff model. As a rule, companies benefit from lower call costs especially for internal calls or international connections. Calls within the company network (e.g. site networks) are often free of charge.
This depends on the softphone used. Many XPhone customers allow their employees to work from home on a private laptop, for example, from where the employee then accesses the company network via a remote app . This scenario is regularly implemented successfully with XPhone.
If such an operation is planned, the admin should check beforehand whether the desired softphone is capable of tunneling through the audio channel. It is also worth testing the headsets in advance. Not all devices can be connected remotely.
DECT is standard for employees who move around the company premises frequently. But the infrastructure and the devices are expensive. With the softphone, employees can take calls on their cell phone instead of a DECT device .
Central telephony features – the so-called call control functions – such as consultation, forwarding or toggling are available via the softphone. For this to work smoothly, however, the company must ensure seamless Wi-Fi coverage.
