More and more companies are relying on cloud technologies – also in the area of Unified Communications. Take advantage of modern cloud environments by hosting the XPhone Server on a virtual machine such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) or on your own cloud hypervisor.
Out of the local data center, into the cloud!
You can operate the following XPhone components in an external or self-managed cloud environment:
Network separation from the local infrastructure and "encapsulation" from the company LAN offer advantages for externally accessible services such as the Mobile App or voice transmission via the Call Controller.
Are you planning to provide centralised services?
Our tip: for multi-site concepts, a central connection point ensures high connection speeds for all users.
Quality is king! This applies in particular to voice quality when making calls.
This could suffer in the cloud with low bandwidth. There is a risk of latency and packet loss.
XPhone offers you not just one solution. But three!
A VPN tunnel ensures a stable connection between the cloud instance and the company network. But a VPN can also quickly become a bottleneck.
For the best of both worlds, XPhone offers payload separation: the voice data is routed separately from the signaling data past the VPN. This avoids potential bottlenecks.
Alternatively, you can use XPhone completely without VPN to reduce the load on the VPN tunnel. The voice data is encrypted using SRTP and the OPUS codec and can only be used by the XPhone Call Controller.
No matter what you decide: the OPUS codec not only offers security, but also efficiency. OPUS requires only a small amount of bandwidth to deliver HD audio and adjusts itself downwards. If the bandwidth decreases, the quality is automatically downsampled and the data packets are reduced in size.
