- Transmission of telephony statuses: The XPhone TAPI server transmits various telephony statuses (free, busy, consultation etc.) to your application and thus supports journal management in your application.
- Security: The XPhone Connect TAPI server uses rights management to ensure that each user is only provided with the TAPI lines that they are authorized to use. This ensures that each user can only use their own TAPI line.

What is TAPI?

How does a TAPI server work?
The XPhone TAPI server is connected directly to the telephone system. This communicates with the TAPI driver (TAPI Service Provider - TSP) on the individual workstations. The XPhone TAPI Service Provider in turn provides Windows applications with telephone functions.
What is a TAPI Service Provider (TSP)?
The TAPI Service Provider (TAPI driver) is a software and is used to control the telephony hardware. The TAPI functions are translated into a language that the end device can understand.
Is remote TSP required?
No. The XPhone TAPI server takes over this function - without the complexity and configuration effort of classic remote solutions.
